About Us
Daddy-Daughter Construction consists of myself, Eric Muhammad (Daddy) and Sumayyah Borders-Muhammad (Daughter). I got my start in construction back in 2006 with a concrete construction company in Poconos, Pennsylvania. Forming poured concrete walls for new construction homes throughout the area. Soon thereafter the recession of 2007-2008 hit and the concrete company began to falter. I decided to strike out on my own and start my own concrete contracting company, specializing in stamped decorative concrete, and stonework.
After moving to Virginia in 2013, due to the cold weather, harsh winters and short work seasons. I became a sub contractor installing gas and wood burning fireplace inserts in Virginia and North Carolina. My daughter Sumayyah, began to work with me when she was just 12 years old. As my assistant, helping me with fireplace and granite surround installs. In 2017 we began to subcontract for Sam’s Club assembling playsets, pergolas and gazebos, in which I decided to make Daddy-Daughter Construction official. We then quickly moved into building custom decks, sheds, backsplashes and flooring jobs. Sumayyah quickly began to develop her skillset and abilities as a precise cut person, tile and flooring installer. With her strong desire to learn and work ethic, organized style, and keen eye for detail, made her the perfect partner. We have a combined 23 years experience in the construction trade.
